It seems that the Chicago Democrats were responsible for the results
of the last census in Transilvania, which must've included the dead
amongst the living just like in a good old fashion Cook County
election. Unless of course, in the same Chicago Democratic tradition,
the Hungarians were "counted"... early and often!

My name is Scott Glasrud, and I am running for the New Mexico State Senate
during the 1996 elections. One of the reasons I have chosen to run is to combat

the
proposed state and federal regulations of the Internet. As you know, the
Internet
was never designed to be regulated! It was designed to allow communications in
the event of anuclear war or a major catastrophe. I OPPOSE REGULATION, and if
elected
will fight to preserve your constitutional rights. HOWEVER, I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am asking each person who reeives this message to send $5.00 to the
Scott Glasrud Campaign Committee. If we pull together, we CAN protect our firs
t
amendment rights! HELP ME show the politicians the POWER behind this
important NETWORK. Please send contributions to:

Rumors of a Muzsikas tour have been widely exaggerated. The group (along
with dancers Farkas Zoltan and Toth Ildiko--Batyu and Fecske) performed
recently at a Bela Bartok festival in NY State, but left the day after
their performance. Too bad.

re: help on research project for new company called POSITUDE..

We would like to ask you for your help.

We are currently conducting research on different aspects of success.

Our purpose is to write a book that will find common threads of what
success means to people of different cultures.

We have conducted interviews, and done extensive library research all
based on information available to us in the United States.

What we would like to find is 2 things; how different cultures define
success, and stories from individuals examining their lives in great
depth, sharing with us their perspective on their successes and
failures.

We are a diverse group of experienced professionals, successful in our own
right, seeking out the true meaning of success.

We plan on publishing this book by springtime of 1996, followed by a
nationally syndicated radio talk show.

All information will be appropriately credited.

Please help us!

Sincerely,

Marty Rolnick and John Stocker

1994 CIA world factbook
(http://www.odci.gov/cia/publications/94fact/country/199.html)
says:

Romania
Population: 23,181,415 (July 1994 est.)
Ethnic divisions: Romanian 89.1%, Hungarian 8.9%

Calculator (/usr/openwin/bin/calctool)
says:

23181415 * 0.089 =~ 2.063 mil.

Other sources are welcome.

This must be _very_ recently, because in 1992, HDUR got about 7% of the
votes, and 2.5 million is more than 10% of Romania's population. Or,
maybe, some Hungarians voted for PUNR...

Well Gyury, if I ever run for the Romanian Senate and win a seat, I will
introduce a law to allow & encourage Hungarians to emigrate to
Transylvania, from Hungary and even more so the USA.
It seems the place is very special in the Hungarian psyche, I think we may
be able to get the new emigre's to do something productive over there, and
make everybody happy !

Personaly I would have preffered that the school system not be meddled with.
The present legislature in Romania seems to be able to do mostly harm in
many other areas.

100 - 89.1 - 8.9 = 98
23181415 * 0.02 = 463,628 other minorities in Romania.
That's ludicrous. There are more gypsies than this, not considering
Turks, Armenians, Germans, Ukrainians etc...
