HANNOVER, Germany, March 9, 1995 ... IBM today previewed
OS/2* Warp Connect at CeBIT, the world's largest information
technology show.  The latest addition to the OS/2 Warp family,
currently in beta test, is a complete, out-of-the-box connectivity
solution for users who need access to information either remotely
or as part of a networked environment.

This new offering combines OS/2 Warp with WIN-OS/2 with
peer-to-peer networking capabilities, connectivity hooks to industry
leading servers, advanced remote access capabilities, and enhanced
TCP/IP support to provide dial-up or LAN connections to the
Internet and other on-line services.  In addition, IBM will bundle
with the product, Lotus Notes Express**, a collection of
communication and collaboration applications that enable users to
access, track, share and organize critical business information.  IBM
will also offer enterprise customers an additional CD with
advanced network support.

"Our goal was to create the industry's most network-savvy
desktop," said Wally Casey, director of marketing, IBM Personal
Software Products Division.  "OS/2 Warp Connect is packed with
all the networking features small businesses and workgroups need
in one, easy-to-install package.  For enterprise customers with
multiple network platforms, it connects to everything and supports
all major communications protocols.  It's easy to install and
administer, and it's built on OS/2 Warp, a bullet-proof,
mission-critical operating system."

A One Box Solution for Small Business and Workgroups

Small businesses and workgroups will appreciate OS/2 Warp
Connect's built-in peer-to-peer capability allowing users to share
applications, printers, modems, and files located on any PC in a
network, without special hardware.  On a peer network, OS/2 Warp
Connect does not require a dedicated server or a LAN
administrator, making it particularly attractive to small companies
without in-house technical resources.

OS/2 Warp Connect can be installed automatically using system
defaults, or components can be installed selectively, allowing
customers to choose the features they need.  The product will also
ship with ASKPSP, a CD-ROM which gives quick answers to
commonly asked questions, reducing technical support costs.

The Perfect Network Client

OS/2 Warp Connect's built-in LAN requestors seamlessly link
desktop systems to each other and to all major network operating
systems, including OS/2 LAN Server*, Novell NetWare, Microsoft
NT Server**, Lotus Notes, and a variety of Internet servers.  OS/2
Warp Connect supports communication via NetBIOS, TCP/IP or
IPX on Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI networks, eliminating the
need to buy transports or client code when attaching to the
industry's most popular servers.  It also supports wireless LAN
connections via infrared, cellular devices, and serial port
connectivity.

Based upon a graphical, integrated, network-enabled installation,
OS/2 Warp Connect can be installed across the enterprise from
any PC on the LAN.  During installation, system administrators can
select a tailored installation option to fine tune the system as they
install it.  In addition, IBM plans to offer enterprise customers a
separate CD that contains advanced network support, including
mobile file synchronization that enables users to disconnect from

OS/2 Warp Connect, which began limited beta testing in
December, will be distributed to testers as it enters the final beta
test stage beginning March 14.  The product is expected to be
generally available worldwide this spring.

Lehet hogy lemaradtam az elozzo uzenetekrol ebben a temaban, de valami 
hasonlot csinaltam nehany napja 3Com kartyaval. 
Warp nem ismeri a 3c509 kartyat csak a 3c503 ethernet controllert. 
Hagytam hogy betegye a 3c503 a config.sys -be es miutan befejezte 
egyszeruen ratetten a 3c509.sys -t a megfelelo helyre es a config.sys 
-ben is kicsereltem. Mindezek utan csak a net.cfg filet kell editalni es 
betenni a configuraciot meg egyebeket amit akarsz. 
A 3c509 lemezen nam volt rajta hogy ez a driver csak os/2 -hoz valo. En 
csak hasznaltam ami volt.....
Most mar vigan docog a gep a net-en.....

Nem tudom a fentiek segitenek-e a te helyzeteden, de nekem mukodott.  :)

Egy C programozo pozicio tovabbra is nyitva van de emelle
meg jott egy zaftosabb. MAC programer wanted, C nyelvben.
Tudom, hogy ez nehezen fog osszejonni Pesten, de elkepzelheto
hogy van olyan aki tud MAC-ben programozni vagy ismer valakit,
aki mar csinalt ilyet. 
A munka eleg konnyu amugy mert egy WINDOWS programot
kellene attenni MAC-ra, vegso soron csak a rendszerhivasokat
kell belole atkonvertalni.
Mar kis MAC tudas is eleg lenne ha nincs mas.
Power PC-t,  es SW-t adunk, a MAC sem ordongosseg, kis
batorsaggal  el lehet vallani.

(A vincsit mindenki nevezze annak aminek akarja! Nekem mas problemam van:)

Figyelem a mediat, itt mindenkinek az a baja, hogy hogyan kell a ~-t 
elaltatni. No en meg epp azt szeretnem elerni, hogy az a szerencseten 
allat ebren maradjon.
Van egy 340 M-s Seagate ST3391A-RX (vagy valami hasonlo) tipusu 
masineriam ami csodalatos volna, ha 25 sec idle time utan nem parkolna le 
a fejet (gondolom azt csinalja, vagy valami hasonlot: halani egy klattyot 
aztan a kovetkezo iras-olvasasnal kb 0.5-1 sec varakozas utan jonnek az 
adatok.)
Ez azt jelenti, hogy addig (szinte) teljesen leall az aktualis 
oprendszer, ami azert "kicsit" idegesito.
No ez DOS-ban ugy ahogy elmenne, de azt mar reg kinottuk...
(kulonbenis titok, hogy mit hasznalok...)
Aki hallott mar valami hasonlorol, vagy pontosan tudja mi a bajom, annak 
valaszat szivesen varom.

Elore leszogezem, hogy ez semmikepp szem a GREEN alaplap miatt van.
Probaltam mar mas konfiguracioval (mas alaplap, kontroller, stb...), 
szoval mindenkepp a merevlemez meghajtoval (jujj) van a gond.
