Traditional Cuban Music is the essence of HABANA SON CLUB's music (please

With this new production HABANA SON CLUB can surely proof that they are more
than just an extraordinary Cover Band of Cuban Stars present in the European
media. HABANA SON CLUB is better than ever and contagious with rhythms like
Son, Cha-Cha-Chá, Ritmo Pilón, Guajira, Bolero, Rumba, Dansón, Salsa and
most of all, a lot of fun with their natural choreography life on stage.
BIOGRAPHY & RELEASE
HABANA SON CLUB easily wins the audience with the traditional Cuban popular
music on acoustic instruments. Through "Buena Vista Social Club" (worldwide
known film) Cuban music gained the popularity it deserves. At the same time
HABANA SON CLUB plays music along these lines, but supported by the
traditional style of Cuban roots developed its own modern repertoire with
rythms like Son, Cha-Cha-Chá, Guaracha, Bolero, Rumba, Dansón and Salsa.
In 1994 the six musicians that formerly played with other internationally
well known groups like Sierra Maestra, Orchestra Revé, Banda Meteoro, Rumba
Habana, Carachi and the Sinfonica Habana, joined the HABANA SON CLUB in Cuba
and have ever since played at hundreds of events on the Caribbean Island.
Following a tournee in Turkey the group toured in other European countries,
such as Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia, where it performed on
festivals (Festival Latinoamericando in Milano and Verona, Wiesen Festival
and Sunsplash Festival in Austria, Geneva City Festival) and other events
(promotion events, concerts, company presentations, clubbings,etc.).
All of the musicians have a highly professional background, having studied
at Havana's Music University and two of them as students of Ruben Gonzales.
Their technical versatility, enthusiasm and spontanity reveal real
professionals.
Besides their own compositions HABANA SON CLUB also plays famous songs of
other Cuban musicians like Compay Segundo (Buena Vista Social Club),
Adalberto Alvarez, Juan Almeida, Solina Carrillo, Miguel Matamoro and
others.
"SON" is the root of Cuban contemporary music and dance. Once it was used as
a generic term for the dance music that came from Cuba in the Twentees.
African and Spanish traditions were melted into what Nicolas Guillén, the
famouse Cuban poet, called "our soul". Son integrates music, lyrica and
dance, over which the Cubans define their identity. Today´s Latin music,
like the all over popular Salsa, derives from Son, the very Cuban soul.

A Che Tango produkció 1999-ben Budapesten volt először hallható. Azóta
színházakban és rádiókban Piazzolla zenéjével, Borges verseivel és Buenos
Aires-i históriákkal ismertették meg a klasszikus zene kedvelőit, különféle
korszakok táncaival és dalaival átszőtt tangótörténettel szórakoztatták
kávéházak publikumát, s némely rendezvényeken meg is táncoltatták a tangót
ropni kívánókat. A Budapesti Fesztiválzenekar által rendezett oktató jellegű
koncertsorozatok keretében pedig még a gyermekekkel is megéreztették a tangó
ízét.

The 1999 production in Budapest was the world premiere of Che Tango. Since
then, Piazzolla's music, Borges's poetry and the anecdotes of Buenos Aires
have become know throught the theatres and the media to those who like
classic music; Tango history interwoven with the dances and songs of various
periods entertained the café crowds - and on some occasions the chance for
active dancing was given to those eager to practise the real tango. In
addition, the Budapest Festival Orchestra held a special educational concert
series for children to enable them to develop some familiarity with the
flavor of the tango.
